This is a once a year custom special order fabric issued each May. Fat quarters are sent as individual cuts.
You can find large wooden painted quilt blocks mounted to the outside of barns in the west, a nod to a quilter in residence on the farm or ranch. Quilt festivals like the one found in Sisters, Oregon display many quilts outside on the business exteriors. You can walk through the downtown and marvel over the workmanship, colors and design ideas from hundreds of quilters.
